Volunteering at Euroa Health

Volunteers make the world go around – well, certainly this is the case in Euroa and at Euroa Health.

Thanks to the great work of volunteers at the Bowerbird Op Shop, the Friends of Euroa Hospital, and the Amaroo Auxiliary, our hospital patients and aged care residents receive many ‘extras’ that make each person’s stay at our facilities more comfortable. For example, the Palliative Care suite in Acute Care at the Hospital was refurbished thanks to Friends of Euroa Hospital, and our Aged Care resources are modern and tailored to current needs because of the income produced by the Bowerbird Op Shop.

The functioning of Bowerbird is a sight to behold – scores of volunteers timetabled to run a very successful enterprise in the heart of Euroa.

The members of the Board and the Committees are all volunteers, bringing a range of necessary skills and experiences to ensure the continued strength of the organisation.

Trained volunteers make regular visits to our elderly residents providing 1:1 friendship and companionship. Volunteers are matched with a suitable resident and the Service is managed by the Centre in Wangaratta. Direct contact can be made by phoning 5721 0200.

On occasions, drivers are required for short trips to Shepparton and other destinations. Mileage is paid for these trips.

Volunteers are required to complete a Police Check and sign their understanding of our policies and practices, such as confidentiality.
